Compacted mouse morulae were frozen at 0.3ºC/min. or 0.5ºC/min. from -6ºC to -24ºC or -32ºC in 10% of glycerol plus different sucrose concentrations with or without 0.1% of honeybee royal jelly. Embryos were thawed in water bath at 22ºC for 20 seconds and cryoprotectant dilution was done in three steps. Embryos were cultured in Whitten’s medium for 24, 48 and 72 hours at 37ºC, 5% of CO2 and 100% of humidity. The in vitro development ranged from 56.6% to 100% after 72 hours. Expanded blastocysts were transferred to pseudopregnant recipients on the third day of the estrous cycle. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of the dominant follicle during it’s growing, static and regression phases on the superovulatory response in 18 estral cycles of nelore heifers. The follicular development was monitored by ultrasound from Day 6 to Day 10 (Day 0=estrus) of the oestrus cycle, when the diameter of the largest follicle was measured and the number of subordinate follicles counted. The animals where superovulated with 400 or 500IU of FSH/LH twice daily for 4 days begining on day 10 of the oestrus cycle I was injected PGF2alpha concomitantly with the fifth dose of FSH/LH. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as taxas de manifestação de sintomas de estro, de resposta superovulatória e de recuperação de embriões em 20 cabras da raça Moxotó em três tratamentos consecutivos, em intervalos de 56 dias. O ciclo estral das fêmeas foi sincronizado com esponjas vaginais contendo 60 mg de acetato de medroxiprogesterona (MGA) durante 11 dias e com 100 mig de cloprostenol (PGF2alfa ) administrado no nono dia. Neste dia, iniciou-se o tratamento superovulatório com 250 UI de FSH-p por cabra, fracionadas em oito doses decrescentes, com intervalo de 12 horas. A repetição do tratamento superovulatório com FSH-p diminuiu a taxa de manifestação de sintomas de estro, porém não afetou a taxa de ovulação e reduziu a taxa de regressão prematura...
